By creating an account or using Petophilla (“the App”), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the App. If you are under 18, you confirm a parent or guardian has agreed on your behalf.
The service
Petophilla lets you create pet profiles, post photos/reels and stories, connect pets as buddies/mates (“PawMatch”), chat, shop, list adoptions/services, organise events, track pet health, and get AI care guidance (“PawLearn”). Features may change over time.
Your account
- Provide accurate information and keep your password private.
- You’re responsible for activity under your account.
- One account per person; don’t impersonate others.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these Terms.
Acceptable use
You agree not to: post unlawful, harmful, hateful, harassing, sexual, or infringing content; abuse or endanger animals or promote cruelty; spam or scam; attack, scrape, or reverse-engineer the App; or upload others’ personal data without consent. We may remove content and suspend accounts that break these rules.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you post, and grant us a licence to host and display it within the App to run the service. You’re responsible for your content and confirm you have the rights to it.
Marketplace, adoptions, services & events
Petophilla is a platform, not a party to transactions between users. We don’t guarantee any listing, seller, animal, service, or event, so deal with other people at your own risk and always meet safely. Real-world payments and payouts are handled by Stripe, whose terms also apply.
Payments, subscriptions, free trials & auto-renewal
- Digital subscriptions / premium are sold only through Google Play Billing. Google handles your payment, renewals, and refunds through your Google Play account.
- Real-world services, events, and adoptions (from other users) are paid via Stripe, outside Google Play Billing.
Free trial: If we offer a free trial, its length and price are shown before you start. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it automatically converts to a paid subscription and your Google Play account is charged. Cancel anytime in Google Play → Subscriptions.
Auto-renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. You’re charged within 24 hours before each renewal.
Billing rules: Prices (including tax) are shown before you confirm. You can manage or cancel a subscription in Google Play → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals, and you keep access until the current period ends. Refunds for Play purchases follow Google Play’s policy; refunds for real-world Stripe payments follow the seller’s terms. We may change prices/features with advance notice, applied from your next billing period.
Ads
The App may show ads (Google AdMob). Where required we ask for your consent to personalised ads; otherwise you’ll see non-personalised ads.
AI features
PawLearn guidance is informational only and not professional veterinary advice. Always consult a qualified vet about your pet’s health. AI output may be inaccurate; you use it at your own risk.
Intellectual property
The App, the “Petophilla” name, logo, mascot system, and software are ours and protected by law. Don’t copy or redistribute them without permission.
Termination
You can stop using the App and delete your account anytime in Settings or via our account-deletion page. We may suspend or terminate access for breaches or where the law requires.
Disclaimers & liability
The App is provided “as is” to the maximum extent permitted by law. Nothing here limits liability that can’t be limited by law (such as death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your statutory consumer rights). Subject to that, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the prior 12 months or £100. We aren’t liable for user conduct, listings, animals, or transactions between users.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without affecting the mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence. If you use Petophilla in India, our handling of your personal data also complies with the DPDP Act 2023.
Changes
We may update these Terms and will update the date above; for material changes we’ll notify you in the app.
